Ceramic material, silicone nitride or Si3N4 retains strength and hardness up to 800c, as compared to bearings steel to only about 120c. The specific gravity of Si3N4 is 3.20g/cube as compared to 7.85g/cube cm for bearing steel. The obvious advantage of lighter weight equates to lower centrifugal forces. Reduced loading offers higher rotational speeds, less stress and will reduce the surfaces from damage.The coefficient of thermal expiation of Si3N4 is 0.0000032/k but that of bearing steel is 0.00001/k nearly a 1:4 ratio. Therefore Si3N4 ceramic bearings are more stable and reliable in a temperature variance condition.
The Si3N4 ceramic has double the hardness of bearing steel, and 1/3 modulus of elasticity larger than that of bearing steel, therefore the elastic deformation of Si3N4 is small under an identical loading.

Full ceramic bearing is non-magnetic, non-conductive, wear and corrosion resistant.It runs smoothly without oil or grease, which means nearly no maintenance is required during working. It is especially suitable for low and high temperature usage. At present, full ceramic bearing has been applied in chemical, metallurgical,food, electronic and other industry.Zirconia materials made by Shanghai Unite Technology Co., Ltd. have fine crystalline and density higher than 6.05g/cm3. Thus the full ceramic bearing
has specially excellent combined performance, especially the corrosion resistance.Full ceramic bearing is not suitable for high speed operation.
We produce 6000 series and UC series full ceramic bearings. We also produce full ceramic bearings without retainer.LRP have announced the release of these new ceramic bearings for the Vector X-11 brushless motor. Constructed using a precision made steel cage these new bearings are very druable and allow the motor to rev freer higher due to the reduced friction caused by the use of ceramic balls.
