Torrington heavy-duty cylindrical roller bearings are designed to provide the highest possible radial load capacity for a given cross section. Standard types consist of an inner and outer ring with cage containing a complement of rollers. Engineered roller profiles relieve end stresses to provide a more uniform distribution under demanding load and misalignment conditions.
Three basic styles are offered to meet different application requirements.
Single-row bearings are available in six standard types, all with a similar roller complement and radial load capacity. Either the inner or outer ring has two integral roller-guiding flanges. Designs with an additional flange can accommodate moderate thrust loads in one direction.
Two-row bearings have two complements of rolling elements for greater radial load capacity.
Four-row bearings provide extremely high radial capacity for heavy-duty roll neck applications in metal rolling mills. This design uses the highest-quality carburizing-grade bearing alloy steels to resist wear and shock under heavy rolling loads.
